I've always been captivated by nature. From a young age, I was fascinated by its beauty in all its forms: sunsets, the moon, stars, you name it. As I grew older, I found myself wanting to capture these moments, to preserve what I saw around me.
When I got my first phone, I gave it a try. The results? Far from impressive. Still, the desire lingered. For a few years, I didn’t actively pursue it, but my admiration for the world around me never faded.
In 2022, as life began to return to normal after the pandemic, something shifted. The long periods of isolation had given me a deeper appreciation for my surroundings, and I felt more inspired than ever. It was then that I decided I wanted to take photography seriously.
Of course, it wasn’t an overnight transformation. Without an income, I had to wait to make my dream a reality. Finally, in February 2024, I bought my first camera: a Nikon D3400, which I still use to this day. A month later, I took my camera on its first adventure: to Barcelona. That trip marked the start: on March 15th, Matei Lens Snaps was born, along with my first photography collection.
Since that day, I’ve been on a journey of continuous learning, striving to improve with every snap. Photography feels like an extension of who I am, a passion that has found its place in my heart. I know it’s something that will stay with me for a lifetime.
